Rubicon Pizza Grape Stomp & Italian Luncheon - $140/Team of Four (Includes Lunch)
$25/Ticket (Lunch Only)
The Village at Northstar Main Tent
Sign your team up for this hilarious annual event. Teams of four stomp their hearts out trying to extract the most juice from the grapes. Team entry fee includes lunch, or just come for lunch and watch the fun. Rubicon pizza will offer an Italian feast complete with beverages.

Pizza Spinning Contest FREE
Presented by Rubicon Pizza Bistro
Sign up your pizza throwing team for an entertaining go-round of pizza tossing and spinning. The winning team and individuals will receive prizes. Open to all age groups. (Adult supervision required for children.)

Taste and buy from our local ranchers, growers and producers handcrafted gourmet goodies, artisan olive oils, and hard to find delicacies. Browse the art show, sip a glass of wine and relax to the live music all in the great outdoors in the center of the Village at Northstar ™.

International Wine & Cheese Pairing Seminar - $40/ticket

In this high energy, fun and educational (don't forget tasty...)pairing seminar, you will taste exquisite imported (think France) and domestic cheeses paired with the perfect wines. Wine and cheese tasting.

Luncheon with Celebrity Chef Joseph Keller - $85/ticket
The Village at Northstar sets the stage for the extraordinary cuisine of Chef Keller (Bouchon, Yountville, Bouchon and Bistro Zinc, Las Vegas) in an intimate four course luncheon perfectly paired with world class wines. Chef Keller will discuss the food and wine pairings, mingle with luncheon guests, and a representative from the winery (TBA) will discuss the wines. Very limited seating.

Flower Pot Painting - FREE

Unleash your inner Picasso in this free-style painting class geared towards the whole family. Flower pots, paints and brushes supplied. Participation is for all ages. Class subject to availability and is first-come first-served and is open as long as supplies last.

Highly acclaimed Chef Douglas Dale takes a break from his very successful restaurant kitchen to make a rare appearance at the Festival. Douglas is known for his astounding Asian Fusion cooking techniques and will demonstrate recipes that you can prepare at home. Culinary demonstration.

The Wines of Burgundy Presented by David Blair - $110/ticket

In this exceptional private wine tasting, you will taste 10 world renowned wines from the Burgundy four white and six reds from Meursault, Puligny, Chassagne, Corton, Chambertin, Vosne Romanee, Chambolle Musigny, Morey St. Denis, Volnay, Beaune. Our featured winemakers of these wines are Amiot, Dujac, Grivault, Girardin, Ramonet, Gros, Freres and Mugneret. David Blair will lead the tasting, discussion and evaluation in a classroom setting.
Subjects will include wine making techniques, cellaring, food pairing, geography, and how to read a wine label. Extremely limited seating. Wine tasting

Join owner/winemaker Russ Jones in a most unusual vertical tasting. These Pinot grapes are not only single vineyard designated from Gary’s Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands, (Monterey), but single row designation as well! Russ will present a 6 year vertical of 2001-2006 vintages. If you love Pinot, buy your ticket now. Seating limited to 30 guests. Wine tasting.

Mikuni Sushi Hands-On Sushi Rolling and Sake Pairing Workshop - $40/ticket

Don't miss an exciting opportunity to learn sushi secrets under the expert tutelage of some of Mikuni's best sushi masters. In this class you will also learn the perfect sake pairing. Sushi and sake tasting. Must be 21 years of age.

Family Hands-On Pizza Class (Available on a first come, first seated basis) - FREE

Cooking with your family and friends is a great way to create lifelong memories and establish new traditions. You’ll learn how to make your own fresh pizza, cooked on the grill. Simple and delicious! Hands-on cooking and sampling. Must be a minimum of 9 years of age. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Blazing Pans Mountain Chef Cook-Off™ - $15/ticket
KitchenAid Culinary Stage
Blazing Pans has become the signature event of Saturday’s festivities. A fierce, live cooking battle between defending champion Executive Chef Jacques Cornelis, Resort at Squaw Creek vs the winner of the 2007 Autumn Food and Wine Grand Tasting, Chef Mike Trombetta, formerly of Christy Hill, features a secret ingredient unveiled at the start of the competition. This is live entertainment at its best!


Bring your finest cheering voice, noisemakers and a thirst for an ice-cold Charbay Vodka Martini, hosted by Marko K., Distiller and Winemaker, Charbay Winery & Distillery, St. Helena, CA. The party starts rolling when M.C. Chef Joseph Keller announces, “Let’s get it on!”


5:30-6:30pm
Charbay Winery Annual Release Party - $25/ticket
Marko Karakasevic, Winemaker and Distiller, Charbay Winery & Distillery

Marko introduces the release of their aperitif collection, designed to take the guesswork out of making a great drink. Charbay Aperitifs will be launched in two flavors: Pomegranate, made with organically-grown pomegranates plus real fruit juices and extracts, and Green Tea, made with Charbay’s own extraction of whole-leaf green teas, plus real fruit juices and extracts. No essences, perfumes, or so-called “natural” flavors and colors are ever added to Charbay products. Marko always throws a great party, so don’t miss this one!

EVENING:

Cabana Bars at the Village
Kick back and gather around the campfires with your friends and enjoy sunset in the Village Cabana Bars with your friends. Free live music and dancing, cocktails and s'mores available.
Explore the first rate restaurants located in the Village: Mikuni Sushi and Japanese Restaurant, Rubicon Pizza Bistro, casual gourmet-to-go at Earthly Delights, S'mores, and sweets from Eurosnak.

Culinary Competition and Grand Tasting - $70advance/$80 at the door
Food and wine pairings, live music and dancing, gourmet marketplace, live wine auction, art show and raffles.

The grand finale to Autumn Food & Wine Weekend, the Grand Tasting, features the food and wine of over 30 of the finest restaurants, caterers and chefs from the Lake Tahoe region, paired with premium world-class wineries. This is an incredible opportunity to sample the culinary and winemaking talents of the chef’s and wineries you always wanted to try, including Tahoe’s newest restaurants. The culinary offerings are over the top utilizing fresh seasonal ingredients prepared with the amazing skill of our chefs, perfectly paired with new and known wine finds. You will also discover new wineries and sample their latest vintage or newest varietal during the Grand Tasting on Vineyard Row and at the Gourmet Marketplace - all under blue skies in the great outdoors at the new Village at Northstar. You must be minimum 21years of age to attend the Grand Tasting. Sorry, to children or strollers.

2:00-4:00pm
Live Wine Auction and Raffle
Always exciting, and peppered with buyers fever, the fast paced bidding for the famous Wheelbarrow of Wine, as well as spectacular wine and merchandise lots including premium, collectible, large format bottles is an annual ritual. Every wine poured at the Grand Tasting is included in the wheelbarrow. Lots may include trips, high end goodies for the kitchen, activity tickets, overnight stays and more. The bidding reaches a feverish pace as the gavel comes down for the final bid on the final lot.

The day comes to an end next to the outdoor fireplaces sipping a nightcap, listening to the live music, shopping at the Marketplace and and making plans to come back next year.
