Summer On the North Shore
Sun’s First Light
Rosie's Cafe, Tahoe City : As the Golden Orb warms the North Shore the wildly popular Rosie's Cafe is an excellent starting point. In continuous operation since 1980, Rosies will fill you up with one of their famous omelet's and Dr. Dennis' Bloody Mary's. On chilly mornings, warm yourself by the woodburning fireplace. The antique bicycle collection will inspire you to go out and burn off those calories.
Mid Morning
Martis Peak Fire Lookout is a great hike, culminating in spectacular views of the Lake, Truckee and the surrounding peaks, meadows and valleys. Allow a couple of hours and bring water.
Or…
Mountain Biking the Tahoe Basin is laced with single track. Jump on the Tahoe Rim Trail at Brockway Summit and earn your turns on the backside toward Martis Valley.
High Noon
River Ranch, It’s noon and da’ belly, she’s empty! Grab a deck table and watch the rafters and kayakers bob on by down the river. Good grub, bubbly atmosphere and lots of sun.
Afternoon
Stillwater Spa, at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, is an “out with the bad air, in with the good” kind of personal redemption experience. One of the West Coast’s finest spas.
Or…
Shopping in Old Town Truckee rivals a rubdown any day. Every store has a personality along with wares and goods you won’t find at any mall we know of.
Early P.M.
Black Bear Tavern in Tahoe City. Go here. Be amazed at the menu. Leave pleasantly stuffed.
Later P.M.
The Crystal Bay Club or the Tahoe Biltmore will more than likely be hosting a funkadelic, booty shakin’ band.
Or…
Tahoe City is the whole party enchilada in one charming mountain town. Wander from pub to pub.
Early, Early Morning…
Hitch a ride on T.A.R.T. as the evening draws to a close, it is time for the pillows and dreams of yet another day of play in paradise.
