CARNELIAN BAY/TAHOE VISTA/KINGS BEACH
Scattered along Hwy. 28 just east of Tahoe City are many Tahoe-style stores providing souvenirs, mountain clothing and athletic apparel. Take a leisurely drive along the Lake and park in any of several public lots to explore the area more closely on foot. Stores not to be missed include Tahoe Mountain Sports for everything in outdoor gear and a boutique shop in Kings Beach selling authentic clothing and trinkets imported from Thailand.

INCLINE VILLAGE
Shops and restaurants are located at every corner in Incline Village. Check out the Christmas Tree Village just off Hwy 28 for souvenir shops, a home decorating store and restaurants. Porters Sports, just across the street, features all of the gear you’ll need to enjoy your outdoor Tahoe adventures, summer or winter. Just over Mount Rose on Highway 395 in Reno is the new Summit Sierra Shopping Mall, featuring names such as GAP, Dillard’s, Banana Republic, Victoria’s Secret, MAC Cosmetics, Coach, Apple, Williams-Sonoma and more. The North Lake Tahoe Express offers comfortable shuttle rides to and from the North Shore. Click here for route information.

NORTHSTAR-AT-TAHOE
The Village at the Northstar-at-Tahoe is home to more than 20 shops, galleries and restaurants. Browse through high-end apparel and clothing at True North, swing your hips to the latest music while trying on brand names at Butterbox, or find ways to ski and hike in style at The North Face. Nestled at the base of Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort and ski mountain, this is a great shopping area year-round.

TAHOE CITY
North Lake Blvd from the wye to Safeway comprises ½ mile of shoreline stores, restaurants and boutique shops. Don’t miss the Cobblestone Center with its chiming clock tower in the center of town for distinctive mountain throws at the Tahoe Rug Studio, high-end children’s clothing at Ruffles and Ruffnecks, and more. Boatworks Mall, Tahoe’s only enclosed mall, overlooking the Lake west of Safeway, houses jewelry, restaurants, and a home-made chocolate shop, apparel, galleries, home furnishings, a complete game store, among others.

THE RESORT AT SQUAW CREEK
Shops at the Resort at Squaw Creek include Sports Tahoe, James Harold Gallery, High Altitudes and Mountain Munchies, a novelty children’s clothing store. Wander around this indoor/outdoor mall between ski runs, after a golf game or while taking a break from poolside sunbathing.

TRUCKEE
Downtown Truckee is a virtual Mecca of mountain shops selling furniture, mementos, books and clothing. Wander along Donner Pass Rd. and West River Street sidewalks and explore this historic railroad town. Fashion aficionados, be sure to pop into Cabonas for the latest in contemporary clothing and accessories.

VILLAGE AT SQUAW VALLEY
This European style pedestrian village abounds with fashionable apparel, athletic gear, eateries and art galleries. Some intriguing stores include Tails by the Lake pet boutique, offering fun accessories for your pet, Plumpjack Sport, featuring high-end jeans and other clothing, and Waxen Moon, where you and your children can make your own candles.
