Music, Memory and the Brain

5:30-7pm We all have certain songs that bring back vivid memories. Why does music form such strong associations? Dr. Petr Janata will provide some answers from his research on one part of the brain that serves as a “hub” linking music, memories, and emotions. This research has implications for potential breakthroughs in music-based therapies for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. $5 suggested donation. Doors open at 5:30pm and the program begins at 6pm.
