The Art of the Anthropocene
Date: Apr 18, 2013 (Thu)

5:30pm-7pm Beginning in the 1790s we used exploration and science to see that the Earth is a set of interrelated physical systems. Now we understand how profoundly we have perturbed those systems. Artwork reflects our evolving sense of living in the Anthropocene, the epoch from 1790 onwards defined by our increasing consumption of fossil fuels. Bill Fox will take us through a journey of art made during the Anthropocene, from landscape painting to earthworks and beyond.
