More than 36 talented local artists participated in this 3-day event by opening their North Lake Tahoe studios to the public last year. This year marks ArTour’s 14th year, and promises a return as well as the participation of many new artists. The art mediums featured are vast and include watercolor, acrylics, weaving, oil, glass, printmaking, fabric, ceramics, pottery, sculpture, mixed media and photography. Many of the artists are well established and nationally recognized with works hanging in major galleries throughout the United States. Others are promising emerging artists. Art Bark Fest September 15-16, 2007
Come see the only animal-themed fine arts and wine festival in the country. Hosted by Tails by the Lake specialty pet shop, 2007 marks the 3rd anniversary of this unique event. The festival is as much about wine tasting as it is about animal art, but our guess is that when you leave the art will have left a much bigger impression. The artists vary from Cholla the horse, who paints abstract watercolor, to your very own dog, whose nose imprint can be the mold for a 14K gold necklace. The human artists attending the event present everything from crystal sculptures to paintings, prints and find jewelry.

Autumn Food & Wine Festival Sept 14-15, 2007
Each fall, wine and culinary enthusiasts descend upon North Lake Tahoe for four days of imbibing adventures. Events include grape stomping, cooking and sampling instruction, cook-offs and a “wine, walk and shop.” While wine and food tasting occur throughout, the festival culminates with a Grand Tasting and Culinary Competition, where nearly 30 area restaurants work side-by-side to put their best tastes forward. More than 1,000 guests participate in the tasting portion of this competition.
