Summer Press Kit

June 3, 2011

Dear Journalist:

With leisure, family and adventure travel increasing in popularity, North Lake Tahoe is the place to go this summer and fall.

In the warmer months, the destination offers golfing, stand up paddle boarding, rafting, kayaking, water-skiing, jet-skiing, swimming, parasailing, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, marathons, triathlons, adventure races, road races and everything in between.

The serene side of North Lake Tahoe offers shopping, spas, fine dining, wine events, casinos, open-air movies and concerts under the stars. Foodies and wine lovers should note that the region’s premier culinary event, the 26th Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival, is at the Village at Northstar September 9-11, 2011 where the creations of local and celebrity chefs, along with California’s finest wines, will be featured in an idyllic outdoor venue.

North Lake Tahoe has also been honored with many accolades and was recently ranked by Rand McNally as the No. 1 North American Ski Destination based on bookings in January 2011. The region has also been ranked the No. 1 Ski Destination in the U.S. for the past three consecutive years by Orbitz.com, the No. 1 Travel Destination in the U.S. by TripAdvisor (2010, 2008) and the No. 10 Destination Worldwide by TripAdvisor (2008).
