A WELCOME LETTER TO OUR JOURNALISTS
Dear Journalist:
It’s going to be a big year in North Lake Tahoe. There’ll be big celebrations, big openings and with a little help from the anticipated El Nino, big snow.
The biggest news is the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe at Northstar-at-Tahoe’s mid mountain. Opening December 9 with a 17,000-square-foot spa, new restaurant and ski-in/out access, the property will be Lake Tahoe’s first five-star caliber hotel. The biggest party is bound to be the Olympic Heritage Celebration, January 8-17, honoring the area’s history and auspicious beginnings.
To take advantage of the expected snow, there are endless acres to ski and ride as well as multitudes of opportunities and locations for snowmobiling, dog sledding, sleigh rides, ice-skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, tubing and sledding. And when the sun goes down, guests can hit one of many new après ski dining and imbibing options, enjoy live entertainment at historic venues or take a chance at blackjack and craps.
