Family Beaches

Tahoe City
Commons Beach is located in the heart of Tahoe City, with parking behind the fire station. Amenities include bathrooms, a playground, picnic table, summer weekly concerts, movies, shallow water for wading and farmers market.
U.S. Coast Guard Beach & Campground is located just to the West of the U.S. Coast Guard boat launch and includes picnic tables, grills, baseball fields, kids playground and camping areas. Enter through the Coast Guard drive off of Lake Forest Rd.

West Shore
Chambers Landing Beach is located about nine miles south of Tahoe City on Hwy 89 and is a flat, sandy beach adjacent to Chambers Landing Restaurant and Dock Bar. Concessions include a full bar and grill food.

Kings Beach
Kings Beach Recreation Area is located in the heart of Kings Beach off of Hwy 28. Voted Best Family Beach by the Tahoe World, the area features lots of sand and shallow water. Burgers and authentic Mexican food are served at several restaurants across the street. The new Kings Beach Plaza located between Kings Beach and Coon Street is a lovely spot for the whole family. In the summer, there are frequent arts and crafts fairs and music on the beach on Friday nights through August.

North Tahoe Beach
North Tahoe Beach is located at the intersection of Highway 267 and Highway 28.  North Tahoe Beach underwent a complete renovation that included the construction of new restroom facilities and 3 beach volleyball courts.  A group picnic shelter that includes a BBQ, running water and seats 90 people was also constructed. The shelter is available for rent for weddings, parties or picnics through the NLTRA 530-581-6900, for use by individuals on a first come, first served basis when the facility is not rented.
