Late Lunch Carnelian Bay's Gar Woods is a local's favorite, and in the summertime you can see why amazing deck seating makes this the perfect lunchtime spot. Try their famous Wet Woody cocktail so you can really feel like you're in paradise.
Afternoon Make your way to Crystal Bay but just before you get to the casinos, make a right on Speedboat and you'll be right on top of another local's fav, Speedboat Beach. This small sandy beach can sometimes be crowded, especially when the Lake level is high, but wade out a bit and climb around some of the rocks and you are sure to find your own boulder where you can get all the privacy you want.
Dinnertime Moody's Bistro, on the main street of historic downtown Truckee, will make you feel like you've just walked into a swanky jazz club in NYC but with a North Tahoe laid-back vibe. The creative menu and thoughtful wine list, not to mention the regular live jazz, will give you plenty to rave about to friends back home. If you're lucky, maybe Paul McCartney will stop by and jam, its been known to happen.
After Dinner Truckee has a great line up of restaurants and bars all within a few steps of each other on main street, making it the best place in North Lake to bar-hop. In the after hours, they usually offer a variety of musical options from Jam bands to DJs just take your pick. |
