Stand Up (SUP) and Prone Paddleboarding has exploded as a popular human-powered sport across the crystal clear waters of North Lake Tahoe.
Stand Up Paddling and Prone Paddleboarding can be enjoyed by anyone, at pretty much any ability. It’s basic – you stand on a giant surf board and glide along with a single paddle. Or you lay face down on the board and paddle with your arms. The sport can be a serene experience as you glide by magnificent granite boulders peering into the clear depths of Lake Tahoe, or it can be as physically challenging as you want, working out every muscle as you trim and tone.
People are practically living on paddleboards. They take their dogs and kids on them. They do yoga on them. Personal trainers use them to help clients balance and develop core strength. And, of course, people compete on them.
Stand Up and Prone Paddleboarding is a great way to get on the water and experience Tahoe. Scroll down for rentals, lessons, paddle events and tours available throughout the area and get out…get on, and find out why Lake Tahoe is considered the largest, most beautiful flat water paddle venue in the country.

The only company specifically building boards for flat-water touring on calmer ocean waters, harbors, lakes and rivers. Founded by Nate Brouwer as he paddled across Tahoe in the evenings and found that his board sucked. He decided to make a great board for flat water touring, whether the water was flat or not.
