Description: This week consists of more than 50 wacky events and parades taking place all across North Lake Tahoe. It is truly a celebration of our amazing March weather and snowpack. Bare your skin in the Gar Wood’s polar bear swim, test your favorite pet in the dog pull race, snowshoe under the moonlight, cheer on your favorite bartender in Pete ‘n’ Peter’s fastest server contest, head to Cal-Neva for battle of the bands, or grab your boards and hit the slopes to see why this festival was created in the first place. This one-of-a-kind winter carnival today serves as a forum for fundraising and educational events for area non-profits. So come join the fun – it’s for a good cause! Click

The Great Ski Race

Description: One of the largest Nordic ski races west of the Mississippi, this 31st annual event is the main fundraiser for the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team, a non-profit all-volunteer organization. The race has grown to include more than 1100 racers, who ski from Tahoe City all the way to Truckee, where local volunteers, a live band, raffle prizes and awards ceremony await them.
