Dining and Entertainment

If you are looking for tidbits on a budget or gourmet inspriations, there are over 100 North Lake Tahoe restaurant choices between Incline Village, Nevada on the east side, to Homewood, California on the west. Many of these establishments offer spectacular views, live music and entertainment, and of course, acclaimed chefs bringing their own creations to the Tahoe dining scene.


Cross Country Skiing

Did you know North Lake Tahoe offers the largest concentration of cross country skiing in North America? Cross Country Skiing is one of the "world's best aerobic workouts." Add to that spectacular views of the lake at some of our XC areas and you have the perfect mix of exercise and inspiration. Fan of endurance? North Lake Tahoe also offers some of the most challenging back country skiing in the world.



Strap on a pair of showshoes and explore old-style. It's the perfect way to see the wilds of Tahoe and to catch some deep, undiscovered powder. The other good news... Snowshoeing burns more than 600 calories per hour, so you can click on the dining link above without worry.


Kayaking / Paddleboarding

You can't get any closer than this. Several businesses rent boats so you can glide across the "glass" on a calm winter day. The scenery from the water's point of view may cause some breathlessness, but you'll get over it. There are a couple of places that rent gear and boats for winter:

Yes, it's time to take a stroll and treat yourself to that new pair of boots. Little boutiques, markets and galleries are spread across North Lake Tahoe. Some with views that might make it hard to figure out if you are looking at a painting or out the window.
