Tahoe DonnerAt the Day Lodge, this is the place to rent equipment, wax your skis and purchase your trail pass. The Day Lodge is the home to Alder Creek Café- famous for fresh homemade cooking. From the Day Lodge enjoy a 3.5 km ski to the Cookhouse in beautiful Euer valley. A warming hut during the week, on weekends and Holidays the Cookhouse becomes the perfect place to refuel. There is 47 km in the valley to ski, 36km in the Home Range, and 30km up the Sunrise bowl. In Jan and Feb we offer night skiing on Wednesdays on a 2.5 km loop. The choice is yours.
Tahoe Donner Cross Country got started in 1975-76 by Rondi Thorwaldson. This was a very low-key operation that utilized the meadow for the terrain. There was no food service, no grooming machine or groomed trails. In 1985, the association entered into an agreement with Glenn Jobe and Peter Werbel. They moved the operation up to the Equestrian Center and the Cross Country Center became the ski operation we know today. The lease with Cross Country Connection (Kenny Stannard) expired on May 31, 1996. Tahoe Donner Association then took the business in house. The Tahoe Donner Cross Country Center is ranked in the top 5 of more than 450 day-use facilities in the United States, It is a world-class facility blessed with some of the finest terrain to be found anywhere.
