At the top of a winding access road just a few miles from Tahoe City sits a world of spirited and unpretentious big mountain haunt for skiers and riders. Head to the Ice Bar on the backside of the mountain at any time of day to join fellow riders for a beer, a dose of sun and the view of Ward Peak from a plastic lawn chair.
