Cottonwood overlooks downtown Truckee from one of the nation's oldest ski lodges. At the turn of the century, the land which Cottonwood stands was owned by one of Truckee's most prominent citizens, Charles F. McGlashan, who purchased it from railroad developer Charles Crocker. With a core menu of established local favorites like the Niman Ranch New York Steak, Pine Nut Crusted Southeast Asian Basa, and Butternut Squash Enchiladas (vegetarian), Cottonwood offers up to five different nightly specials. Cottonwood features live acoustic music Thursday and Friday evenings. Reservations are encouraged at all times. Music starts at 7 p.m. in the fireplace room during winter months and moves to the deck with a 6 p.m. start time during warmer months (weather permitted).
“Acoustic Thursdays” feature the best in FREE live acoustic musical entertainment coupled with discounts on libations and select menu items all night long in the Bar and Fireplace Rooms. Located at 10142 Rue Hilltop Road, Truckee, CA 96161.
