Maris Reservoir is located off of Highway 267 between Truckee and Northstar. Best catch is Cutthroat - but this area is catch and release only! Good dirt road to the lake. Use single, barb-less hook and spinner. Boats without a motor are allowed.

There is also a 2.2-mile out-and-back trail considered an easy route, it takes an average of 47 min to complete. This trail is great for birding, cross-country skiing, and hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
