Explore hundreds of kilometers of North Lake Tahoe’s world-class cross country ski trails.  North Lake Tahoe has the most concentrated region of groomed cross country ski and snowshoe terrain in North America. Experience Everline Resort and Spa’s 18km, and Northstar Resort’s 40km of groomed trails just a few minute drive from Lake Tahoe. On Donner Summit, you can ski the largest cross-country area in North America, Royal Gorge, with 140km of groomed, tracked trails. Challenge your nordic abilities on the Auburn Ski Club Training Center’s race courses. In Tahoe City, you will find Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area’s65km of groomed trails and Granlibakken Tahoe’s cross country terrain, along with several trails at the Winter Sports Park. There are over 124 acres of nordic skiing available within the North Tahoe Regional Park in Tahoe Vista. In the Town of Truckee, Tahoe Donner Cross Country offers over 100km of trails. There is no shortage of epic nordic skiing in North Lake Tahoe for all skill levels.

For a new backcountry experience, Truckee Donner Land Trust’s Frog Lake Backcountry Huts offer cozy accommodations set on the edge of an alpine lake near Donner Summit, California. The huts are accessible on foot or bike in summer, and by ski, snowboard or snowshoe in the winter months.
