What’s New in North Lake Tahoe Summer 2025 

Lively summer events, stewardship updates and more. 

 NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev., June 24, 2025 Long, sunny days and crisp alpine air signal the arrival of summer in North Lake Tahoe. Whether you’re here for a quiet lakeside evening or a community concert in the mountains, North Lake Tahoe offers a thoughtful mix of recreation, music, film and stewardship programs. This season invites both first-time visitors and longtime fans to experience the best of Lake Tahoe at a leisurely pace.  

Dining Updates: 

  • Six Peaks Grille in Olympic Valley invites wine lovers to its Summer Wine Tastings Series, held every Saturday from July 5 through Sept. 27 from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. Hosted by sommelier Carly Stone, each themed tasting offers a curated flight of three 3-ounce pours, featuring rotating selections such as rosé, sparkling wines, global whites and Pinot Noirs. This weekly event provides an engaging, educational and flavorful experience in a scenic alpine setting. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. 

 Events: 

  • The annual Music on the Beach summer concert series at the Kings Beach State Recreation Area will return June 13 to Aug. 29. This free event features live music performances every Friday night starting at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a variety of musical genres performed by local and regional bands, food and beverage options, including beer from Alibi Ale Works and wine from Truckee River Winery and local food vendors available until 9 p.m.  
  • The 20th annual Concerts at Commons Beach in Tahoe City will return June 15 to Sept. 7, offering free live music every Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event features a diverse lineup of performers across genres like bluegrass, funk, soul, rock and jazz. Attendees can enjoy the music against the scenic backdrop of Lake Tahoe, with food and beverages available from local vendors. The event is family-friendly, with a playground on-site. Guests are encouraged to bring low-back chairs, sunscreen and hats.  
  • Through Sept. 18, Alibi Ale Works will feature weekly live music with its second annual Tunes on Tap Sunset Concert Series, put on in partnership with Travel North Tahoe Nevada (TNTNV). From July 10 through Sept. 18, Tunes on Tap will take place on Thursday evenings at Alibi’s Incline Public House, offering locals and visitors a mid-week escape filled with live music and craft brews. All concerts start at 7 p.m. and are free to attend. 
  • Movies on the Beach at Commons Beach in Tahoe City will return June 25 to Aug. 13. These events take place each Wednesday with movies beginning around dusk. This is an all-ages event that costs $1 per person to attend.   
  • Classical Tahoe will return July 13 through Aug. 10. This annual event brings four weeks of world-class orchestra, jazz and chamber music to North Lake Tahoe with weekly shows to choose from. Tickets can be purchased at ClassicalTahoe.org.    

 Parks and Recreation Updates: 

  • Sand Harbor State Park will continue require reservations for from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. daily during its peak season, through Oct. 15. Visitors must arrive within this time frame or forfeit their reservation. Reservations are non-transferable and non-refundable, and the person named on the reservation must be present with a valid ID. In addition to park entrance fees ($10 for Nevada vehicles, $15 for non-Nevada), there is a $5 reservation fee. To make a parking reservation at Sand Harbor State Park, visit ReserveNevada.com. 
  • Tahoe Adventure Company offers single kayak, double kayak and stand-up paddle board options for introductory tours or longer, more immersive journeys. Unique to summer, witness the sunset and full moon rise with a Full Moon Kayaking Tour, or enjoy a Sunset Kayak Tour.   • The Nevada Division of State Parks is undertaking an important infrastructure project to enhance the long-term safety and sustainability of the Marlette Dam. As part of this effort, select backcountry trails within Spooner Lake State Park will be temporarily closed beginning March 31, 2025, through 2026. Read more at GoTahoeNorth.com 
  • Flume Trail Bikes is actively working to provide alternative bike access options during the Marlette and Flume Trail closures. Their team is committed to supporting riders with updated trail recommendations and modified rental experiences throughout the project. Learn more at FlumeTrailTahoe.com. 
  • D.L. Bliss State Park continues to be closed due to an ongoing pipe construction project. Stay updated on the status of this closure at California State Parks 

Stewardship Updates: 

  • If you plan to visit North Lake Tahoe this summer, make sure you stay up to date on all news relating to construction, public transportation, beach access, trail access, alcohol bans, and more. Read more at StewardshipTahoe.org 
  • On July 5, join the community for the 12th Annual Keep Tahoe Red, White, and Blue Beach Cleanup from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This post-Fourth of July tradition brings locals and visitors together to help preserve the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe by removing litter from beaches and surrounding areas. It’s a rewarding way to give back, protect local wildlife, and ensure Lake Tahoe remains pristine for all to enjoy. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.  

Transportation Updates: 

  • Several infrastructure improvement projects around North Lake Tahoe will impact traffic and transportation this summer. For more information on the projects and schedules, visit NorthTahoeCommunityAlliance.com. For the latest updates on NDOT projects, visit NVRoads.com 
  • TART Connect’s summer hours will be in effect from June 27 through the summer season TART Connect is North Lake Tahoe’s free curb-to-curb, on-demand shuttle service that follows a shared ride model and promotes sustainable transportation within the destination.
