Your Après Ski Guide to North Lake Tahoe

If you think the skiing is good in North Lake Tahoe, then you should check out our après-ski options. After a full day of great runs, après ski is your chance to lounge in the lodge, cozy up by the fireplace and sip on your beverage of choice. Of course, dancing away the night and playing the tables are great options, too. With National Plan a Vacation Day (January 25th) coming up, here’s our picks for how to vacay it up and enjoy an après ski in North Lake Tahoe.

Sip & Dine

From high-end to laid back, there are a lot of ways to dine post-ski in North Lake Tahoe. And especially with National Hot Toddy Day (January 11th) upon us, the pressure is on to do it right.

Head to West Shore Café for a hot toddy with an incredible lakeside view, right across from the Homewood Mountain Resort. Or swing over to Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge for their famous Buffalo Trace Hot Toddy. Their rooms even have their own wood-burning fireplace if you need some extra warmth.

You could also indulge in the Après-Ski Champagne Experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe paired with an equally luxurious meal. If casual pizza and beer is more your vibe, then head to the iconic Le Chamois & Loft Bar at Palisades Tahoe. It’s been known to draw Olympic stars like Jonny Moseley, which makes it the place to brag about your runs.

California Restaurant Month hits in January too, so get ready for North Lake Tahoe chefs to flex their culinary skills.

Dancing & Live Music

Get your groove on at The Crystal Bay Club and Casino. It’s been known to draw bands like The Cold War Kids, Dr. John and The Mother Hips and is totally underrated as a music venue, which definitely adds to its cool factor. It’s newly renovated and has gambling, fine dining and more for a full evening of entertainment.

Wander by the Lake

A walk by the lake is awesome for clearing your head and cooling down tired muscles. Kings Beach is a local favorite and there are several great restaurants there with especially gorgeous views like Jason’s Beachside Grille

Cozying up by the fire for s’mores is another wonderful way to end your ski day. Basecamp Tahoe City offers complimentary s’mores, a warm fire, stunning lake views and is always a solid choice.
